How We Work:
First we clone your drive. We then work on that clone, in case your drive only has a few hours runtime left. No data is written to, or removed from your drive. In the unlikely event your drive fails during this process, we can work with the partial image. This is a non-intensive, non-destructive process - we simply read your drive byte by byte.
Next we analyse the drive image and see what data can be recovered. We will contact you, and let you know what we can recover. If at this stage we can find no usable data or we cannot find the data you need, there is no charge (except for delivery charges!).
The recovery is then run and we will give you an estimated completion date. If the data cannot be put back on your existing harddisk, you may supply us with another disk or we can purchase you a replacement. Alternatively, we can put up to 20Gbs of your data on DVDs.
What we can't recover :
There is little we cannot recover. Our expert technicians can recover most cases of data loss with our recovery software. In cases where the drive does not spin up, the read head is severely damaged, or the platters have significant surface damage we may have to send your drive off to our laboratory for more extensive treatment. This will incur extra costs. If this is the case we will phone you to let you know the potential cost.
Unsupported Formats
At present we are unable to support the following formats:
- Mac/Unix/Linux drives (HFS+ etc) (coming soon!)
- Compact flash / iPods (coming soon!)
- SCSI drives (coming soon!)
- RAID arrays
- Zip/Jaz Drives
Encrypted Data
If you have encrypted any of the data on your drive, please bear in mind that we may not be able to recover the encryption keys or passwords required to access your data. Please make sure you have these stored separately as we cannot be held responsible if you cannot access your data once recovered.
